Reader Board Wisdom

January 2nd, 2007 by Halli

In Caldwell near Boise, a wry reader board often catches the eye of passing motorists. Ralph Smeed, longtime political activist and member of the Republican Liberty Caucus, is owner of Farm City, an ag services business. Farm City features a very visible reader board, which Ralph delights in using to ruffle the feathers of the politically correct.

December found the 2-sided reader board sporting these messages:

“If you can’t even say Merry Christmas, don’t take the day off”

“Christmas decorations tell us about a giant contest between Santa Claus and God. So far Santa Claus is way ahead”

Ralph reported a good response to his messages. And, if you speak with Ralph today, he’s still going to wish you a Merry Christmas. Why such a belated greeting? Ralph responds, “Next year it will probably be against the law!”
