Since writing this post, I have learned that SB 1203 would have allowed your former employer to prohibited you from working in your field ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD for 18 months after leaving his employ! I'm employed at will with my employer able to terminate at any time without showing cause. The must be a two-way street. Noncompete clauses would limit my ability to leave a poor employment situation without ending a career I have invested years into.
