The Face of Idaho Democrats

March 27th, 2007 by Halli

Hateful. Divisive. Intolerant. Profane. Bigoted. Obscene. Exclusionary. Name-callers.

Who comes to mind when you read those terms? If you subscribe to the brainwashing promoted by the “drive by media” you might think I am speaking of Republicans or conservatives. But you would be wrong. I am speaking of those who express themselves on a website arrogantly titled “43rd State Blues: Democracy for Idaho”. (You can do your own search – I refuse to link to this reeking codswallop.)

If this is the face of Idaho Democrats, we’re in worse trouble than anyone suspected. Filled with epithets, hatred, bigotry and invitations to conservatives to surf elsewhere, western Democrats reveal themselves for who they truly are. Their plans for our state are truly chilling, and make Stalin’s Communism look mildly inviting. Their unabated and ill-expressed hatred for all people and things conservative should inspire a few more concealed carry permits, home security systems and the hiring of body guards. Yes, I believe this pap is capable of inciting violence against conservatives. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

And who is this Tom Paine? He certainly bears no resemblance to the founding father by the same name. That gentleman is spinning in his grave as you read. This Tom is no patriot. He is a statist, a socialist, and one bitter man.

“Democracy for Idaho”? Yes, as in the “Democratic People’s Republic of Korea”. That would be North Korea.

Do you read what you write? If you want to see, “Hateful. Divisive. Intolerant. Profane. Bigoted. Obscene. Exclusionary. Name-callers” just read through this site. The lady doth protest too much methinks.

  2. Woot! We made the Trash and Folly hatelist! Says:

Wow, losing your radio show really has taken it’s toll.

I can’t decide which part of your witless diatribe is funniest (I count 24 strong contenders), so I’m considering laminating this on a wallet card so I’ll be able to enjoy it until the day I die.

PS: make that 25. I hadn’t noticed the blatant hypocrisy of you moderating comments while bemoaning our similar rule.

  3. Adam Graham Says:

Yes, Rod, because we know advocating for conservative issues is hateful.

So, Halli, you ran into 43rd State Blues. I’m not exactly popular over there. (Anyone whose name appears in the same sentence as Bill Sali and Bryan Fischer isn’t.) There’s a lot of incivil folks on the left. There are some blogs that are not so bad, though:

    Mountain Goat Report (

    Red State Rebels

Everyone of them has their moments, but none approach the hate and vitriol of 43SB.

  4. Halli Says:

Thanks, Adam. I’ve added the first two as links on my site under “Left Leaning Idaho”. Sorry I couldn’t get to the Red State Rebels.

  5. Dean Wormer Says:

(chokes back laughter) As Bugs used to say, “What a Maroon.”

Um, it’s typepad, not tyeppad. They guy’s name was Rod, not ROAD. Or, not to push you past your technological comfort zone, try googling a blog by name when someone shares a bad link.

Humorless *and* stupid is no way to go thru life.

  6. Dean Wormer Says:

Oh, and calling us the face of Idaho Democrats is as wrong as calling you a fairminded conservative.

  7. Halli Says:

Dean, thanks for making my point. Oh, and I believe you spell “the” with a “t”, an “h”, and an “e”.

  8. Rod Says:

    Mr. Graham,
Where did I say anything about equating conservative ideas with hate? I said nothing of the kind. I simply commented that the kind of conservative ideas here, and the manner they are disseminated here, are similar to Halli’s criticism of 43rd State Blues. She quickly makes the jump to carrying concealed weapons. This from someone who has supported people who bomb doctors offices? The venom with which Halli treats homosexuals is embarrassing. By the way, I’m a life-long Republican (I know you’ll dismiss me by calling me a name like “RINO.”), and conservative. Yes, a real conservative like Goldwater who said reasonable things like: “I don’t have any respect for the Religious Right.” “Every good Christian should line up and kick Jerry Falwell’s ass.” “The religious factions will go on imposing their will on others,”
“A woman has a right to an abortion.” “I am a conservative Republican, but I believe in democracy and the separation of church and state. The conservative movement is founded on the simple tenet that people have the right to live life as they please as long as they don’t hurt anyone else in the process.”

  9. Halli Says:

Rod, I have never, in person or on the website, supported bombing of abortion clinics.

And Barry Goldwater was no conservative in his later years and carries absolutely no weight with me. His statements are much more in tune with libertarianism.

Perhaps you would do well to take the World’s Smallest Political Quiz, (you know- just google it) to help with your identity crisis. While you’re there, study up on the differences between conservatism and libertarianism.

  10. Rod Says:

You support Operation Rescue spokeswoman Cheryl Sullenger who served time for bombing a clinic. You post stories supporting them here. By default you support bombing clinics.

I have no identity crisis. I know who I am. I am a Republican who believes that debate within the party is crucial to keeping it strong. I’ve seen that this site likes to use the founding fathers as examples. If you want to see heated debate and look at Jefferson and Madison. This lock-step, black and white view is unhealthy.
