What Caused the Collapse of the Three World Trade Center Towers on 9-11?

May 8th, 2007 by Halli

The lectures given in Idaho Falls by education expert Dr. Jack Monnett and retired physics professor Dr. Steve Jones were fascinating.

Dr. Monnett focused on infringements on our constitutional rights, and scriptural warnings of dangers arising in the days before the end of the world. Author of “”Awakening to Our Awful Situation”, Dr. Monnett directs his comments primarily to members of the LDS Church, who will find it riveting.

The book also includes a very interesting chapter on 9-11 and gives ample evidence of government knowledge and collusion, much as we now know occurred in the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. “Awakening to Our Awful Situation” can be purchased at LDS book stores, or by calling 208.528.4157. (Incidentally, the book includes a DVD of Dr. Jones’ presentation at Utah Valley State College.)

Speaking second, Dr. Jones discussed evidence that contradicts the official story on the causes of collapse of the three World Trade Center towers. (Yes, three WTC towers. Did you forget, as did I, about the collapse of Tower 7, which was never struck by an airliner and located more than a football field from the other towers which collapsed?)

Dr. Jones was a professor at BYU when he initially revealed his findings. At first, BYU administration was quite supportive of his research. Later, however, the situation deteriorated and Dr. Jones took early retirement. He declined to elaborate on the details. However, he continues to be featured on the BYU website, and keeps an office on campus. Perhaps not coincidentally, much of the support for Dr. Jones’ work has come from other retired professors around the world.

The peer-reviewed paper authored by Dr. Jones is featured in an on-line publication, The Journal of 911 Studies. Entitled “Why Indeed Did the WTC Buildings Completely Collapse?”, it contains evidence showing the towers could not have been brought down by the airliner impacts and resulting fires alone. He points out the great similarities in the building failures to controlled demolitions. Among other points, he shows that the buildings fell only a few fractions of a second slower than complete free-fall.

Dr. Jones maintains that the official government explanations offered by the 9-11 Commission, FEMA and NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) are woefully inadequate and ignore important evidence.

It would be impossible to review all of Dr. Jones’ points without including his publications. You are invited to delve into the subject for yourself. Read Dr. Jones’ paper, and the other information in the Journal. Do not overlook Dr. Jones’ power point presentation given at Idaho State University. The same slides were used in his lecture in Idaho Falls.

I found the presentations by both Dr. Monnett and Dr. Jones to be completely enthralling and highly believable. But I’m no physicist nor even an engineer. I challenge you to read, consider, and invite your engineer brother-in-law (or whoever!) to do the same. Then get back to me with your conclusions through comments to this post or through the contact link to the left.

Both Dr. Monnett and Dr. Jones have been lecturing widely in Utah, and seem willing to travel some from the state to enlighten additional audiences.

  1. Bubblehead Says:

OK, you’ve gone completely off the deep end now. Please read this refutation of Jones’ “arguments” ( ), and try to consider how it would be at all possible for such a conspiracy to be kept quite — and if you really think there are teams of government agents out there who have no problem killing Americans.

Oh, and make sure you keep your eye out for black helicopters.

It shouldn’t surprise anyone that Jones’ specialty was cold fusion.

  2. Halli Says:

Darn, Bubblehead, I hate to “burst your bubble”, but Pop Mechanics couldn’t possibly have refuted Jones’ arguments. Their article was published in March of 2005. Jones’ paper was published in September of 2006. Perhaps you’d better check YOUR facts, or at least “keep quite”.

  3. Bubblehead Says:

So you’re saying that the government has people who have no problem killing other Americans? And, despite Jones’ claims, fire can melt steel; it happened in Oakland on the freeway overpass a couple of weeks ago.

Unless that was a government conspiracy too.

  4. OMG Says:

I thought there were only Two (2) Towers? I must really be in a cloud or maybe under a rock which is where these people belong!

  5. Bill Giltner Says:

    Trish and Halli,

Thanks for your brave and intelligent post and comments.

There are many “Bubbleheads”: be patient with the ones who are just brainwashed. There are some vicious commenters who know they are lying….. just let their comments be water off a duck’s back.

The details and possible reality of 9/11 is so much more complicated than most would begin to imagine. It is only through studying the details not provided by the main stream media, the 9/11 Commission, or any of official govt. body that one can begin to see why the official story can not be true.

  6. Bubblehead Says:

You should start in the Democratic Underground 9/11 forum; you’ll find lots of people who agree with you:

    In response to Bubblehead:

Everyone who can afford to buy a few books should start with:

    Barry Zwicker’s Towers of Deception

    Webster Tarpley’s 9/11 Synthetic Terrorism

    David Ray Griffen’s Books

    Mike Ruppert’s Crossing the Rubicon

I realize Ruppert’s Peak Oil orientation is dubious and he has flamed out in his profession life. Nevertheless, his book provides a great view of what led many to question 9/11 soon after the event.

Go ahead and read Triple Cross by Peter Lance knowing that Lance is lying or is very unaware of the meaning of much of what he writes about.
