And more parenting advice from the Bible. How to deal with that mouthy teen aged daughter:
Exodus 21:7 And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do.
21:8 If she please not her master, who hath betrothed her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed: to sell her unto a strange nation he shall have no power, seeing he hath dealt deceitfully with her.

Who knows what they're agenda or report actually says? So far, they're the only 2007 Task Force that has refused to post any actual information on the Legislature's web site. ( http://www.legislature.idaho.gov/sessioninfo/2007/Interim/interimcommittees.htm#family ) I'd be interested in you providing an example of a family where the Mom has to work because they need only the extra 8% in family income to pay Idaho State taxes.

I've been lucky enough where my wife didn't work from the time out oldest was born until our youngest turned 16, but a lot of families haven't been able to make that choice. My Church teaches that the wife should stay home with the children, and while that's worked for me and many people I know, that doesn't necessarily work for everyone -- and my Church is not the state (like it pretty much is one state to the south ). I just don't see Steve Thayn and his "Committee of Correspondence" as providing anything this state needs at this time.

You know, Bubblehead, all the Family Task Force is trying to do is minimize government's impact on Idaho Families. Every time a law is enacted that raises taxes, intrudes on the home or authority of parents, etc., choices are taken away from families. Wouldn't it be nice if the Idaho tax burden were lightened, allowing mothers to stay home IF THEY WISHED? For many, there is no real option of staying home because one breadwinner is not able to bear the burden of big government alone.

Don't recall reading anything about "parenting styles" mentioned in the Task Force agenda, but if YOU did, be sure to get right back to me.

More parenting advice from the Bible. Disobedient children must be executed.

He that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death. -- Exodus 21:15

He that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death. -- Exodus 21:17

For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall be surely put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him. -- Leviticus 20:9

We must follow them all, the Bible isn't a cafeteria plan. When my son talks back to me I guess I'll have to kill him.

Halli said: <em>"... government and overly zealous, self-appointed do-gooders attempting to dictate parenting styles should be kept out of private homes and the families who live there."</em>

I agree whole-heartedly. That sounds pretty much like what people opposed to the Rep. Steve Thayn's Family Task Force and their over-zealous attempt to dictate parenting styles are saying...
